Dear Dog Off-Leash Area stakeholders,

We’re writing to provide you several project updates on the City-Wide Study of Dog-Off Leash Areas.

1. Invitation to next Stakeholder Meeting

In response to feedback from participants in our June 20 Stakeholder Meeting, we have updated our consultation plan to include an additional Stakeholder Meeting. Please save the following date for this additional meeting:

Wednesday, August 21, 2019

7:00 – 9:00 pm

Council Chambers, East York Civic Centre

850 Coxwell Avenue, Toronto, ON, M4J 5R1

The purpose of this additional meeting will be to provide an update on the project and to present and seek feedback on:

  • Revised Proposed Case Study Site Selection Criteria and proposed Case Study Sites
  • The proposed structure and approach to Case Study profiles
  • Examples of designs, operations, and maintenance best practices from other jurisdictions

We look forward to meeting with you and hope to see you there.

2. Project microsite launch

We have launched the micro-site for the Dog Off-Leash Area Study, which provides background information about the Study, details on the Study process, and will host key documents like presentations, reports, and meeting summaries. We will update this site periodically over the process. You can visit the project micro-site at: https://www.toronto.ca/city-government/planning-development/construction-new-facilities/city-wide-study-of-existing-dog-off-leash-areas/

3. Online Public Survey #1 — Stakeholder Draft

In response to feedback shared at the June 20 meeting, we are developing a draft version for the first Online Public Survey for the OLA Study. We will share a digital copy of the draft survey on Wednesday August 14th. We’d greatly appreciate if you can review the draft, once sent, and provide feedback to dola@toronto.ca by Wednesday, August 21st. We’ll provide more detail on providing feedback with the draft survey.

Thanks for your on-going interest in this OLA Study process.
